Dixie Shores is a waterfront residential community located about 4 miles Southwest of Crystal River in Central Florida. There are 126 lots in the community of which approximately ninety-five have been built on. Unique, waterfront homes line 2 canals and expansive Dixie Bay. The remaining 31 lots are undeveloped. Most residents enjoy the area all year while some homes are maintained as Winter and/or vacation homes. Those who live here recognize it as a uniquely situated, environmentally sensitive area. It is surrounded by wetlands, marsh, Dixie Bay and the Salt River and the Withlacoochee National Park and Crystal River Preserve State Park. Yet, despite this beautiful place surrounded by nature, it is less than a ten minute drive to US 19 and all the amenities modern day life requires! It is truly a magnificent area unique to the West coast of Central Florida.
The Dixie Shores Property Owner's Association was instituted to insure that this community would remain a lovely neighborhood to be enjoyed by the lucky families fortunate enough to reside on its bays and canals! The DSPOA is an entirely voluntary association of residents and property owners who fund its activities through the payment of annual dues. The daily activities of the association are carried out by the nine member board of directors who serve without compensation in support of the community and their neighbors. The activities of the DSPOA include, but are not limited to, the following:
Landscape maintenance of all common areas
Maintenance of vacant lots
Maintenance and lighting of entrance signage
Membership in, and representation on, the Citrus County Council
Compilation and publishing of community directories
Publishing and maintaining the Dixie Shores web site
Financing and organizing volunteer efforts within the community
For additional information on the Dixie Shores community or the activities, please contact one of the board members listed on the final page of this web site. Thank you.
